Fall was soooo busy around here and then the holidays happened and one of my favorite things went by the wayside-- counterfeiting scrapbook kits with the Counterfeit Kit Challenge. I was glad to find some time this weekend to pull together not one, but two of the Cocoa Daisy Kits selected for this month. There were 5 kits to choose from. Most were snow related, which I don't have much use for here in Atlanta, but one was Christmas inspired, so I pulled together two kits based on the Christmas colors and the shapes of the papers.

September Counterfeit Kit
I took the month of August off from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge due to how hectic our lives get around here when school starts, but I'm back with a September Kit and I really love how mine turned out.
The concept of counterfeiting kits from kit clubs using your stash is brilliant, so hop on over to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and check it out. I'm getting more scrapping done than I have in years, 'cause all I do is grab a kit and some pictures and I can get 4 - 6 pages done at a time because the hard part is already done.
For September, we counterfeited the Sweet Peach Crop Shop September 2010 kit. You can find it here. There were two kits, Sweet and Juicy. I chose Juicy as I am so looking forward to fall after weeks of 100+ degrees temps and no rain in Atlanta and the color palette for Juicy was more fallish to me.

July Counterfeit Challenge
I am REALLY late to the party this month, but I couldn't resist putting a kit together based on one of this month's add-on kits over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge. I am a sucker for Americana and just LOVE the 4th of July. However, the real inspiration for my kit was Julie Ann's at Inspiration for Generation C 2.0. I had been toying around with the idea of not doing the main kit and focusing on the Liberty Shores add -on from PolkaDot Whimsey. Once I say Julie Ann's take on Liberty Shores, I was hooked.

Counterfeit Kit - June
I am REALLY late putting together my June Counterfeit Kit. I have been out of town most of the month and will be going several more places before the month is out, so, I'm not sure I will even have time to scrap with my kit, but I had to put one together nonetheless.
This month's Counterfeit Kit is inspired by Burlap and Buttercup's kit. You can see the inspiration kit here. I liked the variety of the kit, but colors were a bit pale for my tastes. I didn't have any of the papers featured, but since many of the papers were from Basic Grey, I pulled my OLD Basic Grey papers from my stash and used that as my inspiration. Here is my take on the kit -
Paper Lines -
Basic Grey - Color Me Silly, Romani, Oh Baby! Girl, Gypsy
Fontwerks
Making Memories Water Color Collection
Bo Bunny
Paper Adventures
Scenic Route

Bazzil Flower Cardstock
9 different colors cardstock - white, pale pink, magenta, red patterned, gold, slate blue, lime green, turquoise, terra cotta
9 different scraps from my scrap pile
Embellishments -

Scrapbook Pages from April Counterfeit Kit
I finally got some time to sit down and really scrapbook this week. It was really nice to have some uninterrupted creative time. If you are a scrapper and haven't discovered the Counterfeit Kit Blog, you really should check it out. The great ladies over there choose a current kit from a monthly scrapbook kit club to counterfeit using your own stash. And they don't stop there, throughout the month they post tutorials on how to make some of the featured embellishments and they post challenges to get you to use your kit. As someone with a huge scrapbook stash, this is just what I need. It has really rejuvenated my scrapbooking. So if you need some creative inspiration, stop by!
Here are some layouts I created with my April Counterfeit Kit.

Counterfeit Kit - May
This month's inspiration kit comes from Work in Progress. This kit didn't "speak" to me as much as some of the other kits we have counterfeited this year. I think it was mostly because my kids are older and these papers and embellishments are more fitting for younger children. I did however have a piece of red and white measuring tape paper in my stash, so I started there.
And here is what I came up with. Not my typical kit and certainly not what it started out to be in my head! I just kept adding papers and pulled some really old embellishments. These are some really different papers and color combinations for me. This is a really dark kit for me and I wasn't sure I would have any pictures to go with my selections, but going through the pictures I just got back from the printer, I had several I think will work perfectly. Now I'm really excited to see what else I can push myself to create with this kit.

Counterfeit Kit - April
If you haven't discovered the Counterfeit Kit Challenge, they you must head over there and check it out. This month's inspiration kit is a good one. The concept has really jumpstarted my scrapping again.
This has been a VERY busy Spring Break week for us, so it took me a bit longer than usual to put my kit together, but I finally did it and I really like how it turned out. I am not so into birds, so instead I focused on butterflies. My inspiration paper was the MOD floral with birds and butterflies I found so much in my stash to coordinate with it. I made most of my butterfly embellishments with my Cricut. I had a great time playing around with all the options. I can't wait to play around with this fun kit!
My Paper Choices
Lots of Bazzil and DCWV Cardstock. Patterned Papers are a mix of MOD, American Craft, Making Memories, Heidi Grace, Fontwerks, KI Memories, Daisy D's, and Pressed Petals
Embellishments
Burlap, 3 fabric swatches, 6 ribbons/trims, buttons, 1 large MM chipboard alphabet, 15 butterflies, silk flowers, one bird, 2 chipboard tags, letter stamp set, silk and Prima flowers, 2 die cut leaves on vine, Mod puffy stickers set, black rub ons and 4 printed chipboard circles

Countefeit Kit Challenge - March
I just love the scrapbooking inspiration found at Counterfeit Kit Challenge. Each month they highlight a monthly kit and challenge you to use that kit as the springboard for creating you own kit from your stash. Then, all month long they encourage you to actually USE that kit and create some scrapbook pages and projects. This month the inspiration kit is from Studio Calico. The colors are great, and it took me just a little while to pull my kit together.

My Kit - entirely from my Stash
I started with an inspiration paper - the mulit-colored dot paper from WeRMemory Keepers and just kept adding all these great papers. I used the following lines - Creative Imaginations, Lil Davis Designs, Scenic Route, Doodlebug Designs, Making Memories, Autumn Leaves and KI Memories. Some of the paper and embellishments have been in my stash forever. I think the oldest is the Making Memories Deep Red Marble Paper from their Watercolor Line. It has to be at least 8 or 9 years old! Thanks for the kick in the pants to acutally do something with it. Now, to find some pictures to use with this great kit and get scrapping. It is a cold, rainly day in Atlanta, can't think of anything better than scrapping the afternoon away.

Counterfeit Kit Mini Challenge - January
Here it is, my first layout of 2011 and I only did it to use the kit I created as part of the Counterfeit Kit Challenge.
The mini challenge was to use one of two free classes from Two Peas in a Bucket to inspire your layout. I chose Shannon Tidwell's Products You Love Every Which Way. January's class involves using border stickers in different ways. I was inspired by Layout #3 in the class and created the cardstock, patterned paper and border sticker element in the middle of my page following the suggestions in the sample layout. I really liked how it turned out and I used pictures from 2007.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge
I haven't scrapbooked much in the past couple of years and I really want to get back into it this year. I have a HUGE stash of supplies, I just needed some inspiration to use them. I discovered the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and found just the inspiration I needed. The idea behind the blog is to take a monthly subscription kit and create it for yourself, using your own stash of scrapbooking and other crafting supplies. This month's inspiration kit is from Jenni Bowlin's December 2010 Kit. I went through my stash of supplies and created the following kit -
With the help of some great tutorials found on the Counterfeit Challenge Blog, I was able to create my own Bingo Cards and Embellished Stick Pins.
I am really looking forward to using my "new" kit to make some great scrapbook pages. Now, I just need some pictures to go with it!
